Coaching Skills for Executives
You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him to find it within himself.
As organizations continue to reorganize, our workforce will become increasingly empowered and self-directed. Employees are no longer satisfied receiving information on a need-to-know basis. They expect to know what the organization's plan is, how they fit in and whether their performance is meeting organizational goals. To meet these needs, the manager's role must change from the traditional one of assigning tasks, to that of a coach and a facilitator.
This is a highly interactive workshop in which participants will experience coaching first-hand. They will learn how to:
- Keep themselves out of the way
- Probe and uncover information
- Connect, clarify and gain a commitment
- Improve their listening skills
- Move from a problem-solver to a solution facilitator
- Create a supportive work environment
Effective coaching takes considerable time, effort, and a real interest and commitment to developing your people skills. This investment is substantial but the payoff is enormous.
There are pre-Workshop activities, which may include readings, assessments, survey questionnaires or casework, so you are primed and ready to make tangible progress when a workshop begins.
